Behind The Pen

In November 2025, I registered for the Hong Kong Young Writer's Awards (HKYWA). I didn't expect to achieve anything, it was for the experience. However, when the results were announced, I was surprised to receive an honorable mention for my piece.

“Timmy! I told you to brush your teeth!” Mom called. “Stop playing catch with him, Richard!” Timmy rushed inside, dropping his mitt on the table. He brushed his teeth, changed into pajamas, and crawled into bed. A moment later, Mom came and tucked him in. “Can you tell me that story about ancestor Qian again?” Timmy inquired. “You’ve heard this many times,” Mom sighed. “Please?
